Why Composite Prime?

What is Composite Decking?

Composite decking boards can be used on new decking projects or to replace old, rotten and slippery wooden decking boards. The boards can be cut with standard woodworking tools and are held in place with retaining clips. Fascia boards and end caps are also available to provide the finishing touch.

Our composite decking is ideal for residential and commercial projects as it’s durable material ensures a long-life and resistance to damage. Slip-resistance also provides peace of mind for commercial property owners that there is a reduced risk of accident on their premises.

What is our Composite Decking made of?

All of our plastic wood products such as our HD Deck 150 and HD Dual Deck are made using recycled plastics and FSC® wood flour which means that we produce a sustainable, ethical and environmentally-friendly product.

By using wood flour we can achieve a highly natural wood grain appearance to create a beautiful decking product. Combining this with plastic to create ‘composite’ means that our decking are more durable and stronger than traditional timber products.

Composite Decking vs. Timber

Despite composite wood plastic being a relatively new product, we’ve managed to produce a high-quality alternative to traditional timber that looks and feels almost exactly like real wood.

The benefits of composite decking is that its plastic ingredients mean it is far superior in durability, strength and maintenance over a timber product. Typically, timber is susceptible to damage over a period of time. Wood can be damaged by natural weathering such as rain, friction or wind, often causing potentially dangerous splinters to protrude from the material (which isn’t ideal when you have little ones running around outdoors). Composite materials however use plastic co-ingredients that create a much stronger product, meaning that you get a longer lifetime out of the material.
